Rahm Emanuel Announces Candidacy for Chicago Mayor

OBAMAinaugurallunch01

After Friday’s send off at the White House, Rahm Emanuel did not wait the weekend to announce his candidacy for mayor of Chicago.

Recently, this blog examined his might and power in “From the Archive: Rahm Emanuel and Timothy Geithner at Barack Obama’s Inaugural Luncheon.”

In November 2009, an image I photographed of Rahm Emanuel appeared in Newsweek.

More images of Mr. Emanuel are available on my PhotoShelter archive from the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Barack Obama’s first press conference after becoming U.S. President at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago, and the Inaugural Luncheon in Washington on January 20, 2009.

Chicago Mayor Daley told reporters when he announced his abdication, “This office doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the people of the city.” Or this observer might point out, Rahm Emanuel.
